April 21, 2008

Cosmo Academy officially launches their new website.  Located in downtown Vancouver, Cosmo Academy is a Professional ESL School (English as a Second Language).

After first developing a new logo for the company, as well as providing graphic design services for Business Card printing, there were several weeks of website development.  The client requested in-depth involvement with the entire design process, which we encouraged.
The site include translations for key points of information in 7 different languages.  Also incorporated is a custom image rotator script, 3 very comprehensive application forms and custom graphics for the entire site.  And to top everything off the site is 100% XHTML and CSS valid, which means all major internet browsers will 'see' the site exactly the same!

BeltBuckles.ca, an online e-commerce belt buckle distributor, contracted D-Mack Media to develop a completely customized Newsletter service.  With over 2,300 of their own customers, BeltBuckles required a method to create and distribute customizable newsletters to their entire client base whenever they updated their product offerings.

Designed entirely in the PHP programming language, the service allows our customer, BeltBuckles.ca, to login to a back-end portion of their website and create their own custom newsletters - whenever they choose!

Features of the service include a 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get (wysiwyg) text editor, email throttling capabilities (so the server doesn't get overloaded) and an automated cron job (to send out the newsletters at set time periods.  Other features include a customized newsletter 'template', multiple mail-to lists, double opt-in confirmations, bounce handling and comprehensive reporting tools.

D-Mack Media secured a contract for a Professional ESL (English as a Second Language) School located in downtown Vancouver.  Requirements for the site include language translations for key areas of the site - for 7 different languages, a custom image rotator script and comprehensive online application forms.

D-Mack also obtained a separate contract to create a new logo for the company as well as provide layout services for business card printing.

December 11, 2007

The community of Bridgeviw, located in Surrey, British Columbia, officially launched their community based website today.  The site incorporates a discussion forum, a guest book, a visual event calendar and a polls system.  The most challengin part of this site was the customization of the 'front end'.  This customization now allows any of the residents, with proper authorization, to completely manage ALL areas of the site.  D-Mack Media developed a variety of streamlined 'text editors' so the administrators of the site require absolutely NO knowledge od website design.  If they can use Microsoft Word, they can manage this site!

November 28, 2007

SuperFans.ca has officially launched.  The site incorporates MANY customizations including a user forum, over 200 'user groups', an entire 'Private Messaging' system, YouTube video embedding, a completely customized CMS (content management system), LOTS of advertising space, photo galleries, user profiles, many custom graphics, animations and so much more.  The demands for the site were quite detailed and, needless to say, quite involved.  Customizing one area of the site usually required customizing 2 or 3 different areas.  In the end everything came together and looiks quite awsome now!!

Lindsay was quite excited about the first distribution of her new Email Newsletter.  Lindsay is a Mortgage Broker with Dynamic Mortgages, based in Bel Carra, British Columbia. She understands the need to stay in 'constant contact' with her clients and, through the monthly email newsletters, she can do just that.

The newsletters provide the current rates that Dynamic Mortgages offeres as well as up-to-date articles on financial topics and other interesting facts and resources.  She also will be pleased to see the detailed Statistics Reports for the newsletter campaign that D-Mack Media puts together for her.  This way, she can actually see the return on her investment - how many times the email was viewed, opened, and clicked through.

Lindsay Benard, a Mortgage Broker with Dynamic Mortgages - based in Bel Carra, British Columbia - has procured D-Mack Media for the custom development and design, including distribution management services for a monthly newsletter mailout.  Set to distribute the first issue near the end of November, Lindsay is quite excited.

Bridgeview, a community located in Surrey, British Columbia have secured D-Mack Media to produce a comprehensive community based website portal.  Some of the requirements include a discussion forum, a customized (visual) event calendar, a guest book and a very streamlined user interface to allow the community residents to maintain all areas of the website as needed.

D-Mack Media has just secured a major contract for a sports memorabilia retail store with 2 locations.  The 'Card Traders R Us' website will encompass both locations and the customer will have the ability to completely manage the categories and item listings on the site.

OSCommerce will once again be used as the functional foundation for the site, but the design will completely match their fun and friendly marketing identity.  They also have  requirements for a user forum and web blog, so we will incorporate those aspects into the site design as well.

Dynamic Mortgages has recently partnered with D-Mack Media for a long term commitment for the design and distribution of customized newsletter services. 

Since D-Mack Media created and now hosts their website, it made sense for us to also design and manage their email newsletter campaign utilizing the new services we offer.

The newsletters completely match the design of their website, maintaining the corporate identity that is so critical in business today.  Dynamic Mortgages provides the content to us and we insert it into the newsletter template we have created.  They also have a mailing list of over 1,000 contacts and plan to send newsletters once a month.

Beltbuckles.ca is a global supplier of custom beltbuckles.  They had a very specific requirement to be in a position to completely manage the items that were for sale on their ecommerce website.  We chose the open source solution of OSCommerce as it had the most flexible module 'add-ons'. 

There were over 40 add-ins incorporated into the site.  Some of the more complicated requirements included hiding certain products from customer groups, the ability to take credit card numbers directly from the site, hide product prices until a customer logs in and have customized reports for their sales figures.

D-Mack Media has just introduced an exciting new service for it's clients.  We are now proud to offer a complete electronic email newsletter service.  The package consists of a customized design to match your corporate branding, the email distribution itself and full reporting of the email campaign statistics.

We can handle anywhere from 50 to over 50,000 email addresses and each email will be personalized to the recipient and will appear to originate from your company.  The design will be in full HTML and text - both are included in each campaign so the recipients will be able to receive the message no matter what their email program is set to.

The statistics available include how many emails were sent, how many were delivered, how many were 'bounced' (undeliverable) and how many recipients opened the email.  And if there are any links in the emailed newsletter, we can even provide statistics on the number of times each individual link was clicked.  That's some very valuable information!

Board Girl Wears, a Burnaby, BC based all-girls clothing supplier officially launches a new e-commerce website design.  After initial research and recommendations from D-Mack Media, they decided to incorporate PayPal functionality into their existing website.  The site required extensive modifications and now includes a completely custom front end PayPal shopping cart - designed exclusively for their site!  The cart calculates the shipping costs as well as the applicable taxes - based on the shipping area.

It was also necessary to update all the images for their catalogue, include a PDF version of their entire product line and incorporate a small image gallery.

D-Mack Media has secure 2 new contracts in the month of June.

One is for a Certified Financial Planner at a Finance and Mutual Funds Consulting firm based in Port Coquitlam, BC.  They require a website that must incorporate a user managed 'Frequently Asked Questions' section as well as the requirement to be able to upload PDF files themselves to the web server for clients to view them through links.

The other website contract is for a new Consultant firm in the Energy and Resource sectors based in Victoria, BC.  Their requirements are far less technical but they require new branding and logos to provide them with a professional identity.

Both websites will be designed, developed and launched later in 2006.

D-Mack Media has transferred it's entire main website to new servers.  Our new servers are lightning fast (with T1 and T3 server speeds) and with 99.5% up time we will not need to worry about loosing any customers through time delays and slow loading pages.  And we guarantee that you won't need to worry either!  That's right - we guarantee it!  If the server is down more than 0.5% in a monthly period, you will be credited appropriately for the downtime you have experienced.

Dynamic Mortgages, a Belcarra, BC based Mortgage Broker, officially launches a completely new website.  Karen Hall, the owner and an Accredited Mortgage Professional, had very precise requirements for the site that could only be implemented with a new design.  The site, now entirely designed using PHP scripts, incorporates 7 Javascript mortgage calculators, a 'live' currency converter utilizing up to the minute conversion rates and a comprehensive site 'search' feature.  Karen also had the requirement to be able to update the mortgage rates at any time along with being able to manage the Frequently Asked Questions and Mortgage Articles pages. 

During the production of the site, D-Mack Media developed a proprietary 'Simple Content management System' or SCMS.  Using a 'what you see is what you get' editor (wysiwyg) interface, Dynamic Mortgages can update the content on their site from any computer in the world in less than 2 minutes!  And to top off the site, D-Mack media installed a secure socket layer (SSL) certificate for the multi-page on-line mortgage pre-approval application form.  SSL security is the little lock that appears at the bottom of the screen when you transfer sensitive information over the internet.  This is one terrific looking website - Thanks to Karen and Dynamic Mortgages for the challenge - we LOVED it!

D-Mack Media secures another website re-design contract.  Board Girl Wears is a Burnaby, BC based all-girls clothing supplier.  They offer quality clothes that incorporates their own unique and creative screen-print designs targeted to the surf/skate/snow boarding scene.  They have decided to jump into the e-commerce arena and incorporate PayPal into their existing website.  The site will require extensive modifications and will include a completely custom front end PayPal shopping cart - designed exclusively for their site!  The cart will calculate the shipping costs as well as the applicable taxes - based on the shipping area.

Vitaly Barenec, a Surrey, BC based Realtor, officially launches a new Real Estate Listings website.  One of vitaly's requirements was to be able to manage the property listing on the website himself.  D-Mack Media provided a unique and user friendly interface that allows Vitaly to very easily upload the listings pictures and add any amount of descriptions.  The site also automatically links the property addresses to MapQuest maps and includes a mortgage calculator!  This is D-Mack Media's first foray into the real estate website market and we hope to produce more!

The new and improved Kaos Kult website is officially launched.  Kaos Kult is a manufacturer and distributor of custom designed street wear.  The new site incorporates PayPal functionality and has an entirely new look including multiple Flash objects and an original 'Garment Design Selection' script.  It provides a very simple 3-step process for ordering garments on-line and uses various JavaScripts and PHP for added features.

Sir T's Comics website launched - Featuring 2 Galleries and 2 MySQL Databases.  D-Mack media was given the task of creating an entire identity and image for the site, including the name, for a very avid comic book collector.  The website utilizes 2 full PHP galleries and 2 MySQL databases.  The galleries are used to display JPG pictures of comic book covers in the collection while the databases are used to display advanced, searchable lists of the collection.  One of the databases and one of the galleries are secured with state of the art password protection for 'members only' viewing.  With over 10,000 comics in the collection, the galleries and databases prove to be extremely valuable to keep track of what they have and what they need.  And the best part is that collectors all over the world can view their inventory at any time!

D-Mack Media secures a multi-site contract with Watt & Stewart.  Watt & Stewart Commodities is a Canadian based custom hauling trucking company with offices in Alberta, Canada and Texas, USA.  A contract was secured for a brand new website design for both office locations.

JD Exquisite Impressions official site launch.  JD Exquisite Impressions manufactures custom gift plaques, books and clocks as well as other memorabilia and souvenirs.  This site was entirely designed in Flash.  There is extensive use of Flash scripting and other programming to enable a very unique and interactive user experience.  Visitors can view the various products and then 'build' and personalize their choices, picking from lists of verses and galleries of pictures to complete the design.
